Pixel Fighters app good for
This has been a clutch addition to my subway rides, definetly worth the 99 cents
great format and interesting take on a classic RPG
Awesome concept, really easy to pick up great graphics and music, keep the retro alive, and cant wait for the second chapter.
This game is friggen amazing.. really cool characters with special moves and an interesting combat system. Great strategy game that you can play alone or with friends!
I have to say, Im actually really impressed with this game. It plays kinda like continuous Final Fantasy battles, with an interesting action point mechanic, and the ability to instantly make a party from 9 different classes.
UPDATE: Apparently the developer is already working on an item system, more skills, and additonal campaigns. I still think a loot system would be great though.
Plus, this latest update brought Game Center multiplayer! Awesome!
This is great! Love it and want to get more of the action with more chapters, keep making free chapter updates please! :D
..then youll probably like this too! easy to play a round or two when youve only got a few minutes to spare. Only real gripes are that its not immediately intuitive as to what benefit you get from spending pixels at the end of a round on +atk/def and that the menus are a little bit small for my bigger fingers causing me to release on the wrong action fairly often (thankfully theres a confirm option).
Would love to see some kind of loot-based system added so that the fights grant a more immediate and "tangible" reward since if youre playing it like me with only a few minutes to spare at a time, you kind of lose track of what that story line youre fighting for was in adventure mode. Also, without some kind of other variable, its only a matter of time before that one unbeatable class/AP action combo is discovered that just trumps everything and wrecks versus mode :(
Some bad moments
Game is lacking a serious update for the crashes. Fun game but its really not finished
Right now all you do is fight wave after wave of enemies.
In-between fights you can spend points on improving attack, defense, and you can heal your party.
Main strategy element is choosing who is on you team (fighter, paladin, etc). The only other strategy element is how you spend action points. Its not very deep IMHO. Choose to save points to do a stronger attack or spend points charging your normal attack. Get the picture. Also you can spend points to move people (ie have fighters in front of mages.).
Unfortunately it takes several touches to make one attack. So game pace is a bit slow (I have an iPhone 4 BTW). Example: touch person, touch persons health icon, touch attack, touch enemy, touch check mark. 5 steps for one action.
If you dont mind the extra steps and simply want turn based combat without the hassle of exploration or item management... this is game is for you.
Played through twice and ready to go again. Dont miss this one.
Great - old style - mini RPG with good artwork on characters, simple controls and with Game Center support (Leaderboard and 29 Achievements).
I like it.
Ive been enjoying this game thoroughly. Good amount of length for an iPhone game, and the developer seems to have a very healthy philosophy towards what a mobile game should be. Highly recommended.
My only complaint is that the buttons are too small. Otherwise its very good.
