Right now all you do is fight wave after wave of enemies. In-between fights you can spend points on improving attack, defense, and you can heal your party. Main strategy element is choosing who is on you team (fighter, paladin, etc). The only other strategy element is how you spend action points. Its not very deep IMHO. Choose to save points to do a stronger attack or spend points charging your normal attack. Get the picture. Also you can spend points to move people (ie have fighters in front of mages.). Unfortunately it takes several touches to make one attack. So game pace is a bit slow (I have an iPhone 4 BTW). Example: touch person, touch persons health icon, touch attack, touch enemy, touch check mark. 5 steps for one action. If you dont mind the extra steps and simply want turn based combat without the hassle of exploration or item management... this is game is for you.

Played through twice and ready to go again. Dont miss this one.

Great - old style - mini RPG with good artwork on characters, simple controls and with Game Center support (Leaderboard and 29 Achievements). I like it.

It needs way more content and a faster game pace

Ive been enjoying this game thoroughly. Good amount of length for an iPhone game, and the developer seems to have a very healthy philosophy towards what a mobile game should be. Highly recommended.

My only complaint is that the buttons are too small. Otherwise its very good.

Very well executed, nice artwork and chiptunes. Style is well suited for quick gameplay sessions. Takes several taps per attack, but I started to get quicker with it after a short time playing. Overall, will play again A+++++

The menu alone is awful, always hitting not intended buttons. Load times are intolerable - regretting purchase even at low price. Avoid.

This game is very fun to play, and lots of replay value. Cant wait to see the next episodes...

Pixel Fighters is fun in the quick-hit way that mobile gaming is all about. Although more story would be nice, the combat system is detailed and the enemy AI is pretty good. The way you spend your points for between level upgrades OR save them for the endgame scoring is a nice tradeoff, since you actually end up with a high score the less you upgrade. The graphics are good and fun, music is decidedly old-school 8-bit, and the controls are intuitive in the fashion of the old school RPGs. Although the RPG elements are pretty slim so far, there is just enough to set this game apart from the pack. Definitely worth a try!

Great game, get it while it lasts at this low price

a fun turn based fighting game with rpg elements to it.. my itouch doesnt have a camera so cant make use of the make your own battlefield feature, but that does look interesting.. overall a good game, give it a try.

I actually love the game, its a old turned based rpg think nintendo style that takes me back. I was excited playing the first level then bam whaaaaaattttt no second level yet???? Really???? The pvp part is fun but not challeging in computer mode pvp. Overall dont mind paying for the game just left me wanting more!

Cool game, but UI is awkward. My fat fingers tap the wrong commands a lot. :(

Its a great, unique take on the classic RPG with awesome pixel artwork blended in. The features are nice and the gameplay is definitely generous. The only thing that I would fix is the UI. Seems kind of clunky when picking from the list of moves when each option is considerably small.

Pixel fighters is a fun tiny RPG game where the fabric of existence between the "pixel universe" and our universe is unravelling. You get to set up a party of different character types and combat different cool enemies. I dig the music and great graphics. Its lots of fun and easy to learn. Totally worth your download.

I really liked this game. It has a lot of potential. Graphics are awesome, gameplay is simple and the music and sound effects have a retro style. Some people may argue its too short, but it has a lot of replay value: Multiplayer, lots of characters, achievements, custom backgrounds, etc. I cant wait to see what will be added in future versions.

The game has good potential as others have mentioned. Its perfect for quick RPG experience when you dont want to do all th extra stuff in full length RPGs. The main draw of the game for me is just discovering the different characters and their abilities. I hope future updates just add more chapters of stories and maybe a few characters, but otherwise, keep the game as is for the quick play.
